A project is one GA4 property connected to GA4audit, together with the address of the website that property measures. The relationship is always 1:1 - one GA4 property equals one project. If your company runs three GA4 properties (say, separate ones for the store, the blog and the app), those are three separate projects in GA4audit, even if they live under the same Google Analytics account.
The project is the basic billing unit in GA4audit. That's a deliberate design decision: plans differ by the number of projects, not the number of audits. You never have to calculate whether "another scan is worth it" - you audit and verify fixes as many times as your work requires.
What lives inside a project
A project isn't a single report - it's a complete, continuously growing record of your website's measurement quality:
The current audit report. The latest state of every checkpoint, grouped into thematic categories (configuration, implementation, events & conversions, e-commerce, attribution, data quality, integrations, limits, privacy, CRO), together with your Quality score.
The full audit history. Every audit and every rescan is stored as a separate entry. You can open any archived report, compare results across dates and pinpoint exactly when a given issue appeared - invaluable when hunting for a root cause ("the score dropped after the March 14 release").
The Quality score trend. A chart showing how your score evolved across audits, oldest to newest. It's the simplest way to prove - to yourself, a client or a manager - that the analytics work delivers a measurable effect.
The Action plan with implementation progress. A list of fixes sorted by impact on data quality, with the ability to check off completed items and track progress.
Project settings. Business type (E-commerce or Service / Lead gen), primary market and reporting currency - the parameters that tailor the audit scope and validation thresholds to your specifics.

Is a project tied to a domain or to a GA4 property?
To the property. The website address entered in the wizard is used for the live site scan and stored with the project, but the project's identity is the property. If one property measures several domains, it's still a single project.
Can I delete a project?
Yes. In practice you delete a project's individual reports - deleting the last report of a given property removes the whole project along with its history. The freed slot in your plan limit is available right away.
Can I move a project to a different GA4 property?
No - since a project is identical with its property, switching properties simply means a new project. The audit history is inseparably tied to a specific property, so "swapping" the property inside an existing project would falsify the score trend.
